Blanca Violeta Hernandez, 52, of Streator passed away at 3:47 AM Saturday (June 2, 2018) at O.S.F. St. James-John W Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Interment will be in the Panteon de Oriente Cemetery in Durango, Mexico.
She was born on July 21, 1965 in Durango, Mexico to Anacleto & Porfiria (Torres) Hernandez.
She is survived by her daughter: Angelina Hernandez of Streator; 4 grandchildren: Violeta and Ezra Rodriguez and Santiago and Porfiria Castelan; siblings: Carols (Ma.elena) Hernandez of Durango Mexico, Agueda Hernandez of Durango Mexico, Clara (Mick) Zavada of Streator, Jose Luis (Maria) Hernandez of Streator Manuel (Dee) Hernandez of Streator and Rene (Sandra) Hernandez of Augusta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Herminia, Crecencio, Martin, Gabriel, Joel and Felix Hernandez.
She graduated from Streator Township High School in 1983 and received her associates in Secretarial Science from I.V.C.C.
She had worked for State Farm Insurance in Bloomington and was last working for Oakstate/Hearthside in Wenona.
She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church and now a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.
She was the life of the party and her life revolved around her grandkids. She loved being a grandmother.
