Richard F. “Dick” Scoles, 67, of Streator and formerly of Dwight passed away at 6:30 PM Wednesday (June 12, 2019) at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
A visitation will be held from 3-7 PM Tuesday at the Hagi & Baker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Ryan Mattingly will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Inurnment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dwight.
He was born on October 20, 1951 in Morris to Mary Jean (Welch) Scoles. He married Sally Neu on June 2, 1978 in Dwight. She survives.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Scoles; sons: Cory (Manny) Scoles of Dwight and Scott (Abby) Scoles of Pingree Grove, IL; grandchildren: Anthony Bauer, Kassie Hall, Lainie, Lilly and Easton Scoles; two sisters: Myra (Steve) Starks of Dwight and Donna Scoles of Streator and the brother he never had Hank and Soldier.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two sons, Michael & Chad Scoles.
He graduated from Pontiac High School.
He retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a security guard.
Dick belonged to Lazy Acres Sportsman Club. He loved the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks and especially loved his family and his grandchildren.
He never met a stranger and was well loved by everyone who knew him.
