Charles “Tuddy” Howell, 85 of Streator passed away Monday morning (Feb. 1, 2021) at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Pastor John Gutz officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will be at a later date in Riverview cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 PM prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Streator Fire Department.

Tuddy was born April 12, 1935 in Streator, a son of Elmer and Margaret (James) Howell. He married Marilyn J. Harrington on September 5, 1964 in Streator. She survives along with their children, Sally (Kevin) Pflibsen of Streator, Sam Howell of Flanagan, Shawn Howell of Manville, Sheri (Mike) Wilkinson of Ottawa and Steve Howell of Streator; four grandchildren, Nikki (Bobby) St. Vincent, Cooper and Elle Wilkinson, and Maddison Howell; and two great grandchildren, Wally and August St. Vincent. Also surviving is a sister, Margaret (Tad) Zardzin of Des Plaines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Spangler; and a brother, Don Howell.
Tuddy retired as a Chief from the Streator Fire Department in 1999. He had also worked for the Streator Brickyard and was a former sexton at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
He had served in the United States Marines and was a member of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217.
Tuddy loved to fish and was a former member of the Lazy Acres.
